hey everyone

i am 18 and have the same problem i have a Pineal Cyst and my doctors said its nothing they keep telling me it has nothing to do with the very painful headaches i get they tell me it just must be migranes from stress.. but lately my headaches have been getting worse i get dizzy and very nauseous now my ears hurt a lot too like an ear ache hurt. i told my doctor and she asked me if i pass out i said no and that was it end of conversation.. i believe it is the cyst causing me my pain.. i wish there was something the doctors could do instead of denying it.. i am going for an MRI today i am hoping the results will be good.

I to have a Pineal Cyst that is 4.0x 3.0x 3.0 CM . The neurosurgeon said he will not do surgery as it is very dangerous and could result in death or coma. he referred me to a neurologist I told him all my symptoms, severe headaches, dizziness, blackouts, and at times I completely cannot speak, i can hear and understand what is going on around me but I cannot get a word out.I also have the worst time sleeping, and if I do sleep I feel like it is never enough. It is very scary. what is so frustrating is everywhere I read it seems we all have the same symptoms. this is not normal. then these drs say that these symptoms are not caused by the cyst. Something is not right and we are putting our trust into these drs. My dr. is having me get a MRI every three months. He said it is very dangerous he is very concerned yet there is nothing they can do.
I live in the LA area. Are there any drs that are experienced with this and can provide more answers for us?

I am 30 years old and I had an MRI in 1998 due to chronic headaches. I was diagnosed with a .8cm pineal cyst. My neurologist also told me that it was nothing and treated me with migraine meds. I stopped seeing him and discontinued the meds. I just dealt with the awful pain from the headaches and severe sinus pressure with Advil and sinus meds. Recently, my headaches have gotten worse again. So I am seeing a new neurologist b/c I don't believe that my headaches are not due to migranes. I have serious sinus problems and a deviated septum. I had a new MRI done and the cyst is now 1.12 cm and he also said that it is usually nothing but ordered me to have an MRI with contrast done in 2 weeks. I am reading all of these posts and am getting a bit worried. I want to believe my doctor that it is nothing but as I see we all have the same basic symptoms. Should I be worried? I also read above that pregnancy makes the cysts grow. Is that true? I want to get pregnant soon so this is more worrisome than I thought. Any suggestions? Confused

I FOUND OUT ON FATHERS DAY LAST YEAR THAT MY SON HAD A PINIAL CYST ON HIS BRAIN, IT IS 8MM, I FOUND IT INTERESTING THAT SO MANY PEOPLE HAVE VISION PROBLEMS, MY SONS VISION IS 20/240.
HE IS ALSO VERY..... CLUMSY. I WAS ACTUALLY TAKING HIM TO THE DR BECAUSE HE HAD GOTTEN SO CLUMSY, THEY COULD NOT FIGURE IT OUT. THAN ONE DAY HE HAD FALLEN DOWN AND HAD TO GET STICHES IN HIS HEAD THEY DID A CT TO CHECK FOR FRACTURES AND THEY FOUND THE CYST, THEY THEN SENT HIM TO WV UNIVERISTY, THE NERO. THERE SAID IT WAS NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT. I DISAGREE, IF IT WAS NOTHING THEN IT WOULD NOT AFFECT HIM BUT IT DOES SO I FEEL IT IS SOMETHING.

Hi everyone! I am so frusturated right now I can hardly see straight....Ok so I have been going to my GP doctor for a year and a half and have had bad headaches for eight years now. I just thought they were due to stress or whatever so I never really did anything except 8 years ago I got a spinal tap and it was neg for swelling in the brain I guess. So recently They have gotten very bad...I am a mother of three active boys, married, and a full time student working towards my RN degree. So as you can see I do not have time for pain. I feel as though my head is under a lot of pressure....my eyes feel like there is pressure behind them and my ears ache, yet I don't have an ear infection. I get dizzy when I get up to fast and I am very tired often! I went and finally convinced my Dr to give me an MRI and they found a CYST on my Pineal Gland the cyst is 1.9x1.7x1.8 cm well defined with low T1 high T2 weighted cyst. There is some mild mass effect as right lateral ventricle is more prominent size. So I went to a nurosurgeon and he said that it is ok they are rare but they are not causing all my symptoms.....WHAT!!!! does any doctor read these forums my gosh!! one thing we all have in common is headaches and dizzy spells.... So I said I would like a second opinion because he has only seen this two times....needless to say he is not an expert on it. I will let you all know what the next guy says! Thanks for listening Smile

My daughter is 18 years old, and just within the last 6 months she has had all of these symptoms, vertigo, dizziness, headaches, blurry vision, "zoning out-possibly siezures", numbness, dizzy when getting up. She just had an MRI and they said she has a Pineal Cyst, but that it is not related, and that it is nothing to worry about...besides its in a spot where they wouldn't want to operate. Is it possible they are just saying not to worry because, the only medical alternative is surgery which could be morbid?

Everyone here has the pineal cyst and most of the same symptoms, so everyone here is suggesting that is the cause, where most doctors say that it is not...is it possible that there is something else everyone has in common? Which may have caused it in the first place? You are the first I have seen state they have sinus problems. My daughter has constant sinus problems, headaches, dizziness, blurred vision, etc, and mri showed she has pineal cyst too....is it possible that it is sinus/congestion problems causing the symptoms...does everyone in this forum have sinus issues too?

Hi all! I am so sorry that you all are having to deal with all of these Dr's who try and claim they know the answer and they dont! Please go to my site kelsy.pledgepage.org and look at my links and pictures it will tell you how my surgeon went about it and I know two others friends of mine now that have since had the surgery and are doing great!! DO NOT GET A CRANIOTOMY! The skullbase institute can help but your cyst or tumor must be at least 10mm to do surgery.... it is painful takes 2-4 hours and you are asleep.... please email me if you need to ask questions or need help! I am doing about 85% better!!

I was told I had a Pineal Cyst about 5 years ago. I was feeling awful for no reason and when I would get up in the morning my eyes would be almost swollen shut. I have gotten migraines and headaches since I was 13 so the dr sent me for an MRi. The only thing they found wrong with me was the Pineal Cyst which the dr said would not hurt me. I suffer from daily headaches and I get dizzy alot and I am always tired. It is my belief that this has something to do with the cyst. How can someone have this in their brain yet it doesn't hurt anything?
