I have had this same problem, that seems to get worse every year. It kinda feels like I get a nervous feeling and my blood pressure is going up, causing this red rash to break out on my neck and up to my chin. I searched on line for a herb to help with the problem and came up with ST.Johns Wort (herb). I have only tried it for 5 days now, but it seems to be working. I would love to hear from anyone else that might want to try it and see if it works for them. Just make sure you consult your Dr. if you are on any other medicines. You can look up the herb online and learn what all it does and also the side effects. I would love to hear from you and if you know any other herbal drugs that may help.

Just wanted to say thanks for this info and I'm so glad I'm not the only one that suffers with this problem. I'm gonna pick some of this herb up and see if it helps.
I've lived with this horrible red rash coming up for years now and it would be great to find something that helped stopped this happening. I do put on fake tan alot that seems to help the rash not stand out as much, but I don't always have time to do this, and when my skin is really white it stands out so bad. Hope this helps. I will keep you posted. xxx

Goodness. I thought that I had some sort of mental problem, which is probably mental though. I get stressed, nevous, emotional. Right before my period. I also break out when I go to my childs school events. It is horrible. I am so concious of it, it makes it worse. I was at the chiropractor the other day and laid down on my belly to get electrical stimuation therapy and when I got up I was so blotchy, that my chiropractor was concerned and that was embarassing, but I wasn't even nervous, so I think that being tired also brings it on. This is crazy. If anyone has any suggestions, I would love to hear. I do own tons of turtle necks.

Well I have the same problem, I got very red on my face, neck and chest every time I got nervous is terrible, I tried everything but nothing worked, finally after an extend reserch I'm happy to tell you that I have the real solution the key is "Beta Blockers" is a real miracle they block the fight or flight response, I use Inderal a under the counter drug used mainly for high blood preasure. At my new job I had many stressfull moments and I used to got red all the times, now I just take a 20mg pill and that's, I just feel that my body is not reacting violently any more and my performance increase. Check this article and enjoy your new life!!

To the girl who's 15, My sisters and I also have it. It's acually very common. I dont think about it happening, if it happens it happens. There's nothing you can do but understand it and except it. It's like showing all of your emotions on the outside. Dont let this run your life; until you let it go, you wont have it so often. The way I tell people if they comment on it; I say Im a true red neck, and giggle. Just relax and you live your life, not the rash.

I visited this site in hopes of learning something new about this "problem" that it appears a lot of people suffer from. I've got red hair and fair skin. I always felt growing up that I was the only one going through this. I didn't go to school dances or even my own prom because I was too embarrassed and afraid that my neck would get all red and blotchy and people would ask what's the matter with me. I even had people say, "Oh my god what's wrong with your neck, you've got a rash all over it!" or even better yet I had classmates say, "look! she's got hickeys all over her neck." I think by people's reactions to it made it worse for me growing up. I'm now 37 yrs old and it still happens when I'm put in a situation that's out of my comfort zone. I would always say if I could have one wish it would be for this problem to go away. When I got married I got married in the Fall so I could wear a high neck dress. I've missed out on wearing so many cute shirts because I would be afraid of my neck turning red. I'm trying to not let it control my life. When I go out drinking I wear a "bronzer" on my neck and chest. It does help and gives me a little tan. Most of my friends know about this and don't say anything to me anymore which helps. To all you teenagers out there with this just live your life! If someone says something to you just explain to them that this happens when you're a little nervous and it's not a big deal. Most of the time when I say that people are like, "oh, okay". Hang in there!!

so i have been suffering from this Nervous rash since high school and it has gotten worse with age. i am now 30 and it is truly hindering my career as a nurse. i want to be able to appear calm for my patients, but it´s hard when my emotions show on my face with this rash. i am a very outgoing person and am quite confident in my abilities, but in new situations i get nervous...who doesn´t? i truly need this to not be the focus of my days. i am fine with it, it´s the reactions of other nurses, drs and of course my patients that is making me dread a stressful situation at work. i am sad that this has become such a crutch in my career. i have tried everything mentally (talking myself down, imagining that i am looking at myself during the stressful situation) and nothing has worked. i am frustrated and sad for everyone else who has to put up with this hurdle in life. it´s not vanity (as some have tried to tell me), i don´t care what i look like, it´s everybody elses reaction to what i look like that is so hard to deal with. how do you prove yourself when others can read every emotion you are feeling on your face?
i am hoping beta blockers will be my answer, i am making a dr´s appointment tomorrow.
thanks for listening.
