Hi, I have been prescribed with some medications for RLS, but I would like to try natural supplements as I prefer this kind of medicine. What is advised for RLS?

Hi, if you have a compulsory desire to move the limbs, a sensation of burning or tingling and need to move to relieve symptoms by activity you should take cereal grasses containing magnesium for a whole food supplement. Chlorophyll, ingredient of green plants is reach in magnesium. Ionic minerals and trace elements also are a good source of magnesium. Some patients report to have great benefit from iron supplementation, even if they don’t have signs of deficiency. Antioxidants are another ingredient important to prevent disorders and keep good health.

The company "Hylands" makes a great RLS treatment ( they also make 'Calms Forte', a great herbal muscle relaxer/anti-anxiety pill). I have had RLS for about 15 years, and have been on all the Parkinsons drugs, Requip, Mirapex, etc, with horrible side effects. I could not deal with it,and saw this on drugstore.com, so I bought it ( it was super cheap, so I figured i had nothing to lose). It worked so well that I have not had symptoms in almost 6 months, and only once or twice in 2 years ( I used to have it every night, used to wear out the carpet pacing until dawn). The other great thing about it is that you let it disolve under youor tongue, so it works really fast. I think anyone with leg cramps or RLS/PLMD should try this..it is wonderful stuff! Hope this helps
I also found that taking Iron ( I take carbonyl Iron because I have animals around the house and regular iron is poisonous to them), and quinine from tonic water sometimes helps.
