I do not know when was the moment when lower stomach bulge became a sign of health and prosperity. I just know that large stomach is now seen as a symbol of laziness, gluttony and a lack of self-control. I always had stomach bigger then I should but lately I have noticed it is bulged. Now I wonder if that is always the result of overindulgence and a lack of exercise. I want to know, if there are some important things we need to know, if we are going to win the battle of the bulge.

Contrary to popular opinion, a large and bulged stomach does not necessarily come from an excess of fat. Overabundances of air, intestinal gas, a hollow back, a hypertrophied organ, are just some of reasons. Even the process of aging itself is just as often to blame. That is why, before embarking on your own battle of the bulge, you have to know your enemy. Belly balloon is the belly inflated with air or gas, and very common cause of bulged stomach. Instead of being channeled into the lungs, the swallowed air ends up in the stomach. As a result, the belly swells up like a hot-air balloon, and this condition is called as aerophagy. If this is case with you, to get rid of that, avoid drinking while you eat, chew your food slowly with your mouth closed and do not drink with a straw. Beside this, there are few more causes of lower stomach bulge. Maybe you need to report it to your doctor, and he will decide what the best to do is.
