I am looking for alternatives to sleeping meds. I don’t know how to get off of them, so I was thinking to try something else instead. I had problem with sleeping for a long time and now I am totally hooked on sleeping meds.

Don't try to do this yourself, you should get support. You can even find a psychiatrist who will work with you. Your doctor can prescribe smaller dose pills that make it easier to taper off or he can prescribe alternative meds. Sleeping meds are highly addictive and should be used very sparingly and not every night. But I have to warn you many psychiatrists are unwilling to help patients go off meds.

We represent "Unauthorized Ad", an on-line company supplying customized vitamin supplements to the USA and we hope this information may be of interest to you.

Insomnia refers to a prolonged inability to get adequate sleep. This could be due to waking up in the middle of the night and having trouble getting back to sleep or having trouble falling asleep in the first place. Insomnia can be a temporary, occasional, or chronic problem.

The following nutritional components may be beneficial. Valerian acts like a sedative on the brain and nervous system, it is best taken 30 minutes before bedtime. Skullcap has been used historically as a sedative for people with nervous tension and insomnia. The chemicals in Hops may act as a sedative and help to cause sleep and lessen anxiety and tenseness. St John’s Wort Extract helps to promote a positive mood and good emotional balance. Calcium, Inositol and Vitamin B Complex 50 are all essential nutrients required for nervous system health. Magnesium is needed to balance with calcium and helps relax muscles.

Dr. Balch works with "Unauthorized Ad" to provide custom-made natural remedies for those who want an all-in-one daily supplement that addresses all their health concerns, as well as providing the vitamins and minerals needed for optimum health and wellness. We include formula for 680 different health concerns in our database.

Try half a Benadryl table about 30 minutes before bedtime. Melatonin works well and it's natural. Smile
