Grapefruit juice may amplify the effect of statins such as Lipitor and various other medications. It should not be used without your physician's knowledge.

Mixing grapefruits, and or grapefruit juice with Lipitor is a huge no, no. I experienced this on a personal level, without knowing that these two items don't mix well at all. I would experience severe chest pains after drinking grapefruit juice, it was later told to me that because the properties in grapefruit it has an adverse reaction with liptor. In fact most meds suggest not drinking grapefruit or eating grapefruit at all. It can cause you alot of problems.
