Hi, actually L-tyrosine has antidepressant activity. It can be explained since it is precursor for
norepinephrine synthesis. Norepinephrine and dopamine are neurotransmitters responsible for good mood. All claims about it’s effects are unconfirmed. Results of different studies are mixed, but largely negative. Some suggestions are made that it can be used in narcolepsy and attention deficit disorder, but this expectations were not proven in studies. There is no impact of tyrosine on
dementia, Alzheimer's disease or Parkinson's disease.
