Hi, I will have a kidney stone removal very soon. I don’t know much about this surgery, and I don’t know what to expect. Can you tell me something about post op period and recovery?

Hello, I had a larger stone in my kidney, and it couldn’t go through the urinary tract. I drank plenty of water, but it didn’t help. A surgery was successful, and they managed to remove the whole stone out of my kidney. Before the surgery, I was experiencing a severe pain. It was so strong that I often screamed. However, the post op period ended without any problems, and I recovered fine. However, people who already had a kidney stone have big chances to get it again, and that’s why the prevention is so important. You should drink 2 l of water or tea a day, and eat healthy food.
