A friend of mine has recently been diagnosed as having kidney stones and a "bladder full of them" too.

She collasped in agony one evening and got rushed into hospital where they performed various tests and diagnosed her.

They have given her painkillers for the time being while all the paperwork gets sorted but what I would like to know is - how are they going to get rid of them?

She has been passing a couple naturally but has been in horrendous pain the last week or so.

hi. I had to go to the ER because kidney stones are worse than labor pains. It feels like a knife is going in you and then twisting it around in your body. Tell your friend to drink a lot of water (gallons), and to make a hibiscus tea. in spanish it is agua de jamaica, a burgundy dried flower which you boil for about 5-10 minutes to let color into pot of water. strain it, and drink the water everyday like 1 gallon a day. you can find it in any latino hispanic supermarket.it helped me. my friend who is a physician assistant also told me to drink acidic drinks like orange juice cranberry juice because it breaks the stone down.
