Is there a connection between sleep apnia and RLS?

I have had RLS for many years, and recently attempted to get medication for the problem. I have used the stretching and vitamins with some success in the past.
The doctor wanted RLS documented and sent me for a sleep study. As anyone who has RLS knows, it is very difficult to get to sleep, and sometimes impossible to sleep through the night.
I was told I tested positive for sleep apnia, and would like others imput as to any connnection between these two problems.
Of course, I must take time off from work to visit the doctor to discuss the sleep apnia,so I am looking for some info regarding connection before I take time off from work
