Hi. My child suffers from ADD. He is on all kinds of therapies but I am still really worried. I have heard something about diet to be helpful in treating ADD. Is this true? Is diet modification helpful in treating ADD?

Hi. There are three dietary inventions used in treating add – oligoallergenic diet, sugar restriction and Feingold diet. I think scientists don`t support diet in treating add. Sometimes the elimination of sugar may help you reduce the symptoms. However, essential fatty acid supplementation, yoga, homeopathy, etc. can be very effective. Fatty acid supplementation should be a part of every diet. Diet modifications are good. However, it is hard to stick to such diet. I like sweets and I find it really hard.
