I am 34 years old and recently I have noticed intellectual changes in me. Some of those changes include lack of concentration and short-term memory. My uncle has Huntington's disease but my father does not. Is it possible that I can get that defected gene? Is this an early stage of Huntington's?

Huntington's disease is characterized with abnormal body movements and a lack of coordination, but it also affects mental abilities and personality. Affected abilities are planning, abstract thinking, initiating actions, ability to learn new skills, judgment, memory etc. There is a 50% chance of inheriting the gene mutation if person have at least one parent with Huntington's disease.
