I havent gotten my period for about 4 months and my doctor prescribed for me to take provera pills

I haven't had my period for 4 months brown spotting instead ,I went to my doctor who prescribed me to take provera 1 pill daily for 10 days I'm on my 5 day and since the 2nd day of taking the pill started cramping my nipples felt really sensitive and my stomach super bloated is this normal? or should I discontinue taking the pill and consult my doctor?
