Hi, my 7 years old son is diagnose with ADD and now I am being pressured to put my child on drugs. But, I just don’t get the point of treating such a syndrome?

Hi, my 6 years old boy is behaving like any other child, not taking care about homework, good behavior or other alike things, but my husband says it is a disorder ADD, and that he needs drugs to have it treated. I don’t want my son to start taking drugs in the age of six, because some doctors believe it is a disorder to play and be careless as child. He will learn in time to be responsible, to know what he has to do and what are his responsibilities. Even the teachers believe that children are supposed to take drugs for attention deficit syndrome, like they don’t remember how it is to be a child.
