Hi, my very good friend is suffering from major depression for several months. He feels very bad and several times he was talking about suicide. He is taking his therapy regularly but I would like to help him more than that. What can I do to make his life easier and how to be there for him?

Hi, my relative is also suffering from major depression and he tried to commit suicide last year. Now he is feeling better and I hope he will continue that way. You have to talk to your friend, have to be positive and try to include him into social activities. Also it would be good to see if he is taking his medications regularly because it is very important for successful therapy. Support to such person may be difficult but you mustn't let them down.
