New York health officials found three Indian herbal products to contain high levels of lead and mercury that have been proved to affect the kidneys, nervous system and may lead to deformities or death of the developing fetuses in pregnant women.
Jambrulin from Unjha Ayurvedic Pharmacy used by diabetic patients to have a check their sugar levels, Lakshmivilash Ras (Nardiya) from Baidyanath for the treatment of chronic fever, cold and cough, Maha Sundarshan from Arya Aushadhi Pharmaceutical Works for the treatment of flu and body ache are banned and will be removed from New York’s shelves.

There have been 3 adult deaths caused by lead poisoning from the products brought from India. The victims obtained most of the products from their relatives and friends while visiting India.

Those who have been using Indian products are advised to see doctors and shop keepers ordered to dislodge the mentioned products.

The best way to get good herbal products is to make sure they are made in the U.S. and get them from your local Whole Foods Co-Op.There are many great places to get them, you just have to do your homework.
