Hi, my father used to play soccer and had a few severe hip injuries. He has hip bursitis, causing him painful movements. What are treatment options for hip bursitis?

Hip bursitis is manifested with pain over the outside of the upper thigh. A bursa is a fluid filled sac, positioned between two bone surfaces, allowing smooth motion between two uneven surfaces. Hip bursitis can be associated with different types of patients and it is often in athletes participating in sports where a lot of running is required. Hip bursitis treatment is based on reducing pain and stopping inflammation process. First thing to use on an painful hip is ice, because it will cool injury and remove pain. Anti-inflammatory medications such as corticosteroids are usually administrated. IN more severe cases cortisone injections are applied.
