Hi. I was diagnosed with abdominal wall hernia, or ventral hernia. My condition is very painful and I was recommended with herniorrhaphy. I would like to hear more about treatment of hernia and surgery recovery. I am 29 years old. Anybody?

Hi. Herniorrhaphy is a surgery to correct an abnormal bulging, repair of the muscle wall. It is the best treatment for hernia. Recovery is very quick. After the surgery, you will be on postoperative care, to be protected from respiratory infection. Respiratory infections makes you cough and coughing can strain the suture line. Risks of the surgery include reactions to meds, bleeding, infections, and recurrence of the hernia. However, most hernias are being repaired with minimal risks.
