anxiety can cause metallic taste because the brain perception changes with stress and changes sensation from tastebuds. it can also make hands, feet numb and muscles twitch, etc. Very common with stress events

I have been experiencing a metal-like taste in my mouth for the last 4 months. It always happens when I think of something overwhelming. the taste seems to start on the outer edges of my tongue and then cover my tongue and move down my throat. Sometimes I wonder if I am really tasting metal (who really knows what metal tastes like?) or if I am feeling a weird sensation of some sort. I got my hormones checked, and they are all whacked....maybe thats it????? I have started bio-identical hormone therapy, and am hoping that will help out w/my stress. It seems we all have something in common......STRESS!!!!!!!
