I don't know about MicroDiet, but I do know about a company my mother works for called Herbal Life.
This involves drinking shakes a certain amount of times per day, but you also take
vitamin pills etc.
She was vastly over weight (cruel friends of mine would call her a
whale ;] ) and now she's toned down fairly nicely.
Exercise : simply an hour of walking a day, but she skipped days sometimes.
I'm not sure if this is available in the US, but I know it is here in the UK :]
