There have been no known tea side effects until recently. Tea has always been good for the heart, blood vessels, against autoimmune diseases or cancer.

However, researchers from the Rutgers University found that drinking tea could cause chromosome damage and fetal leukemia.
They found that the phytochemicals, derived from plant foods and present in tea extracts, could have biological activity in the body and cause dangerous side effects.

Since there is an increasing number of well-meaning self-remedying public, there is an increased danger of overdosing on the compounds through concentrates and supplements.

The research that was funded by the National Institutes of Health, found an increasing number of human cases of hepatotoxicity, or chemical-induced liver damage, in people using tea-based dietary supplements. Also, research on rats and dogs found a potential for kidney and intestinal damage.

Some of the findings suggest that heavy amounts of the compounds could damage human chromosomes, pose harm to pregnant women and increase the risk of leukemia among unborn babies.
There is also a concern about negative interaction between the supplements and common prescriptions or over-the-counter drugs.

Please cite your sources more clearly. There is nothing in your post to indicate that this is actually true.

Hi eric,
I agree with you. But what do you mean by saying eat like your ancestors and drink tea like your ancestors?
