Hi. I had the same problem. I had laparoscopic hernia repair. After the surgery I coudn`t urinate properly. I went to see my doctor. He sad I need a tube. So, they put the tube into my urinary bladder. I had it for a week. After that, everything was just fine. Any operation is related with complications. The most common complications of any surgery are bleeding and infections. However, with laparoscopic hernia repair, bleeding and infections are quite uncommon. There is a risk of injury to the urinary bladder, or the intestines. Problems with urination are not unusual. The bigger problem is that any time after surgery hernia can come back.
