Users comments and reviews on article Alcohol and Teen Drinking by SirGan
Besides this adult drinking- teen drinking also became very common and will continue, but taking an active interest in your teen's life will help reduce the problem. There is no doubt- alcohol is by far, the most abused drug among teenagers. Because the body changes so much as we grow, the ability both to judge and cope with alcohol changes all the time.
Everyone seems to know of someone who can drink booze by the bucket-load but this shouldn't be seen as something to aspire towards. Teens are the most likely group to have their stomachs pumped after excessive alcohol intake. At the end of the day it has to be remembered that alcohol is a toxin.
Absolutely true!

Coming from a teenage perspective:
As a teenager myself, I see alot of what really happens with drinking nowadays at parties. There are many teens who drink responsibly. My friends never drive after they have been drinking. Maybe it's the city that I live in but cocaine isn't very popular with the teens. Marijuana is the one that is used most often.
I realize that drinking in the teenage years is a problem, but I suggest that parents should talk to their kids about it and actually have a conversation about it instead of lecturing. That would help establish the communication and the teen would not have to lie to his/her parents about if there was drinking at a party or if they had drank.
It's just not possible to make teens stop drinking, but at least discourage them from drinking until they are more mature about it.

Therapeutic boarding school prescribes teen cognitive therapy programs for those troubled teens who are suffering with bad behavioral problems or mental disorders. Those teens are unable to maintain good relationship with their family and society. Therapies are helpful for them in aborting their conduct problems.
im 17 and have been to countless parties where alcohol and drugs is present. i haven't been around tht many so called "hard core" drugs like cocaine or ecstasy but have heard of people talking abt using them. most of the parties ive been to everyone is really responsible, never driving after drinking, knowing there limits and when they need to stop and taking care of themselves. but of course theres always the ones tht dont...thts when a problem can occur. usually the biggest problem is with pot. there is always a group of guys smoking it. actually i can name VERY few guys at my school tht have never smoked it. its definalty a guy thing. but i think as far as drinking & parties go, its all part of the teen experience. and while you could put your child on lock down and keep them away from everything "bad", if you trust tht they can handle themselves in a responsible way, let them be a teen while they can.
Teenage problems are ADD, HDD and ODD, oppositional defiant disorder is a recurring pattern of negativistic, rebellious, disobedient, and aggressive behavior toward authority figures that remains for as a minimum of six months. These problems lead to develop some other difficulties to troubled teenagers like suicidal behavior, violence, self-abuse, lying, addiction, depression, dating abuse, crime and self-harm. Struggling teen rehabs and residential boarding schools provide effective teen behavior modification program and self-help educational books to these problem kids.
