I was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis, after many years of alcohol abuse. I am 35 years old. I have no pain, luckily, but I have lost my weight and I feel really depressed. I know people with chronic pancratitis live shorter than other. So, I would like to know, how much left to live? Anybody?
Hi. My brother was diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis. People diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis from alcohol abuse find it harder to stop drinking and break the habit. If you don`t stop drinking you will get a liver disease. People with CP live shorter because they tend to die of liver failure, liver cancer, or bleeding oesophageal varices. Just do what your doctor says and you will live longer.
Hi am I currently diagnosed from chronic pancreatitis and it is not because of heavy usage of alcohol. Doctor ended up doing a ultrasound from the inside and found that I had built pancreatic stones. Alcohhol is a factor but not the reason you get it. You need to seek medical attention so that you can be checked up on prodiatically. I first started with pain in 1997 and it came till 2008 that I was diagnosed with it and I had stopped drinking. Now my drinking was only on accasion with family memeber and only a few drinks, Even after being hospitalized and on medication it continue to have major pain. I am currently under treatments taking Enzymes because eventually it will not procuce on its on and you will have to take it. And monthly blood drwaned just to check my levels. Chronic can be a really deadly thing if you do not take care of it. You are lucky no pain is active but when you get that heavy pain you will realize that it is not worth it at all.Loma Linda has really great doctors that can help you control your chronic pancreatitis.Remember that is for life!
Research vitamin C.... Suggestion: Go to this site:
Dr.Frederick R. Klenner was treating many diseases successfully since the late 1930's with "mega-doses" of vitamin C (ascorbic acid.) Check the above link, there are a couple of case files pertaining to pancreatitis at the end of the article.
My daughter Rachel, 33 yrs. old... diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis, displayed all the symptoms. severe pain, etc., with history of many repeated trips to the hospital.
I purchased a jar of vitamin C (500 tablets, 1000 mg). One evening she came to my room. Another attack was ensuing. With tears in her eyes, (at this point, it was more from frustration than pain) she exclaimed that she'd have to go the hospital again, soon.
I gave her 5 tablets (5,000 milligrams = 5 grams). Within a half hour the pain was starting to subside. So I had her take another 5 tablets. Within one and one half hours from the onset of the attack, Rachel was virtually pain free, and without the aid of any painkillers. She's been 6 months without an attack. She takes four C tablets twice a day plus she adheres strictly to a proper and healthy diet. (important)
Remember... pain = damage, no pain, no damage!
Vitamin C is completely safe. No bad side effects. (exception: if you took 100 tablets, [100,000 milligrams = 100 grams] then you would probably have diarrhea.)
Vitamin C is amazing... Great for so many human associated ailments... Keep this thought in mind... That most of our good doctors are either ill-informed or misinformed and that with their large caseloads, are generally, much too busy for researching alternative medicine. Also to keep in mind is this.... Fact: That big pharmaceutical companies are more interested in profit than health. (Do the research)
Sadly, at that moment when someone is diagnosed with chronic pancreatitis, they can expect, on average, only about seven years of life left to them.
I hope this simple bit of information helps you.

Hi I'm also currently well I would say years ago I was diagnosed with Chronic pancretitis and at first i though it was due to alcohol. Which i did drink but not on a daily basis only ocasional for events and family gatherings. But then I stoped drinking and the pain persisted. Now due to so many attacks of pancrititis I develop stones in the bile duct. And they perform ercp which is a method to remove stones instead of opening u up. But this actuall procedures causes for you to get swelling in the pancreas... Very painful!I am a 31 year old that suffers from chronic pancretitis. This is the most painful pain you get and very disforortable.. at times i have to hospitalized because the swelling is so bad that at times i have to be in there for long periods at time. I also develop stones in the bile duct. Most painful as well. All I can say for people that suffer from this condition just keep you head up and let god lead your path. He works in most mesterious way to show or strenghts and weakness. Its a strong battle but you will over come it.
