Hello. I’m just wondering weather the only way to get Chamydia is by sexual contact. I’m also interested to know can Chamydia be dormant in someone for an extended period of time and be asymptomatic? Could chlamydia be cause for miscarriage? Thanks for all replies!!

Yes, chlamydia is sexually transmitted and therefore is classified as STD. It can also be dormant, especially in females – actually, 50 to 60% of females infected by Chlymida are asymtompatic. As for the miscarriage I know that Chlamydia is treatable infection and it is not know to cause any problems once it has been cured. I think you should see your gynecologist on this matter.
