I totally agree that it is cocaine induced anxiety, and i also agree that reading on forums like this will make tings much worse. It has been 6 weeks now, and it has been one hell of a ride. It took me a while to figure out it was just anxiety, and i feel much better knowing i didn't do any physical damage to myself. Every symptom mentioned in this thread are normal symptoms of anxiety. Dreamy, disorientated, head pressure, panic attacks. Symptoms of anxiety can be present even if you don't feel anxious, so stop worrying, and give it some time and you will be 100%. I consider myself 40%. 1,5 week ago i was maybe 5%.

I don't know much about drugs, but if you're having such adverse affects, you need to go see a doctor. You may be embarrassed to admit this to a doctor, but it's important if you want to get treated. |
Why would you offer advice on something that you know nothing about?? Also, FYI... It would be extremely unwise to visit your doctor and give detailed specifics about your illegal drug use. The doctor is required by law to record this information in his patient files. They will be routinely scrutinized by insurance reps, pharmaceutical, FDA/DEA. In certain instances they could be used against you for employment background checks, litigation/court subpoenas. Don't be naive about that patient/doctor confidentiality crap! It would be much better to ask a online doctor, or post on doctor online forums.
I consider myself 80% well now. I am no longer dreamy or disorientated. There is only a slightly anxious feeling remaining. And to make it clear, YES, this is anxiety and nothing more. The thought of it being something horrific made me 10 times worse. I was on an antidepressant, but not anymore.
I don't blame my self for thinking that something awful had happened to me, the symptoms were indeed horrific, and it seemed obvious to me that this was brain damage of some kind, couldn't be more wrong!
I recommend The Linden Method for coping with anxiety.

It sounds like you guys are thinking too much. By that I mean just because you tried something and that something is known as a bad thing you're convincing yourself that something is wrong with you. It's all in your head. If symptoms get worse you need to go see a psychiatrist about anxiety disorder. I use coke about once a month with alcohol and depending on how much I drink, I might feel a haze and dehydration the next day but with a nice lunch, dinner, and a couple of liters of water in you, you should be fine by next night. And stop worrying about your braincells you don't use 95% of them and not only that but coke doesn't kill braincells it just messes with the dopamine levels which should get restored after a good night of sleep. Unless you're partying every night or every other night i would be more worried about your regular diet and exercise rather than couple of night of partying. Also make sure you do this with people that know about the drug and what it supposed to look like and feel like because people do anything these days to make money.
I took a big fat line of coke about 4 months ago in Brasil. I was really stupid and drunk. Im 28 bt had hardly ever done drugs before.
It was pretty much my first time. I feel light headed, tingling sensations in my forehead, slight problems with math.
I'm sure it damaged my brain.
Im going to take the reccomendations and do exercise everyday, work on difficult problems (language learning, math) eat well and just prey I make a recovery.

Wow! Cant believe i stumbled accross! Both me and my gf used cocaine for about a year not often maybe once a couple months! Never had any bad side effects! But the last time we did was just over a year ago and we have been ill ever since! Feeling spaced out like everything is a dream, memory is in tatters things i do that day seem like they happend weeks ago, im tired and i get this weird tingling in my forehead and around my nose! Iv been activley trying to find out what was wrong and iv had mris and countless other tests but everything comes back fine! I would say i was deffently anxious when this all started wason anxiety medz aswell as seeing a phsycatrist! None of my symptoms have gone but i feel the anxiety has gone! It is something i causef myself and now probally have to live with it forever! There are still a few things im looking into and will keep u up to date if i find anything! I dont think it wss so much the cocaine but something was cut with it that has caused this
To the recent posters, it has been 5 months for me now and i'm well again. It is NOT damage on your brain, it's anxiety and it's cryptic symptoms. I really don't want anyone to suffer needlessly like i did so i'm going to describe the symptoms i had:
1. Preassure on nosebridge and forehead
2. I was really disorientated the first two weeks
3. Feeling like you are in a dream
4. Fear
5. One panic attack
6. Insomnia
7. Eye floaters
8. Feeling "out of it"
9. Rapid heartbeat, random onset
10. Impaired memory
I used several methods on my way to recovery, but i don't know if i made recovery because of my methods or if it was a natural process.
1. Fish oil
2. Magnesium
3. Vitamin B, B12 and C
4. Realization that it was just anxiety
5. Acupuncture (This really helped, though not the first 3 or so times. After a few sessions i really felt 110% back to normal, then it slowly declined until my next session. This helped me realize that there was hope)
6. Sleeping medication.
I did not exercise.
It is vital to keep your mind occupied with other tings. I sat on my computer for 2-3 months playing games and such, it really helped.
If you really feel like you need help, go talk to a PSYCHOLOGIST, not your GP or psychiatrist. Anxiety medication did not work for me, and anti depressants made me much, much worse.
As someone said earlier in this post, hang in there! The first month or so was really horrible for me and i feel for you 100%
Don't do drugs while you are ill. Preferably you shouldn't do drugs ever again.
The symptoms that persisted for the longest period of time was the head preassure and the rapid heartbeat.
