Can a deviated septum cause a chronic soar throat or stop one from getting better?

I would imagine so. i constantly suffered from sore throat and throat infections,m which were last year actually diagnosed as sinus infections. My sinus infections I have now found out are caused by a deviated septum which I am awaiting surgery to repair.
