CBC or complete blood count shows the number of all blood cells, the red and white cells and the platelets. A white cells are most often responsible for increase in total number of blood cells. There are different type of white blood cells: neutrophils, lymphocytes, basophils, monocytes, and eosinophils. Lymphocyte levels increased can indicate an infection or leukemia. Monocytes are elevated when bacterial infection is present and increased eosinophils may indicate a parasitic infection. anyway, CBC results must be evaluated by an expert because there many factors that can determine the meaning of results like gender, age, general medical condition, former diseases and so on.
