Bloody Stool/ No period Suggestions?

I have experienced nothing of this kind before, am not taking drugs or smoking or drinking alcohol. I am eighteen years old in college, and I noticed the other day that when I finished using the bathroom, there was some "blood" as I wiped from the general anus area. I have no pain, and my period is usually scheduled for about this time, though it has been just generally off and on throughout my life.

I tried using a pad, but there was no period yet. This has been going on for two days now. The "blood" is somewhat visible on the stool as a crimson color, but it doesn't dissapate into the water as it should if it were blood. What exactly is going on?
